Unfortunately this book was a little too long l while the facts and research was admirable on the part of the author, as well as, the police, this reader began to feel bogged down by soooo much detail. If you are the type of reader that you enjoy knowing every minute little detail then this is the ideal book for you.Product details

Silent Witness The Karla Brown Murder Case Onyx (Audible Audio Edition) Don W Weber Charles Bosworth Kevin Pierce Books Reviews
This book is so well written. I will say there are lots of grammatical and syntactic errors...but the depth and style of these writers have you hooked from the time you pick up the book till you finish. I have read all their books now...AGAIN...just wish there were more. One of the best reads I've had in a long time....and I read about 3-4 books a week.
This story had too many repetitive details! I found that I skipped over pages and I never do that. Also it has many, many typos. So, I do not feel this novel had good editing & oversight. The story was compelling & interesting from the standpoint of the difference between the approaches of the prosecution vs defense as they present their side of a case as well as the suffering the victim endured.
A difficult case successfully brought to trial. As the parent of a murdered child, I truly appreciated that the author included the effects of a murder on an entire police department (effects both professional and personal), an entire town/area, and especially upon the victim's family. Our case was never prosecuted (due to unprofessional collection of evidence), and while I prefer to think of us a survivors rather than victims, in reality it's quite clear we are victims as well as our son.
A great example of the old prosecutors mantra "we speak for the dead." This true story develops the plot at the same time as it does a good job of delving into the characters. The players show grit and tenacity as the murder investigation picks its way through the petty politics of a multi-jurisdictional minefield to find a very satisfying end. If you know any cops AND DA's, this tale will have you grinding your teeth in your sleep. First class research by the authors, and steady case building by the participants makes this a first rate page turner. I lived about 20 miles away when this murder took place, and the authors did a first rate job describing the impact on the community.
Again the overwhelming grammatical errors, mis-punctuation marks, etc, makes
the storyline harder to read and comprehend. It is like having two books in one--reading
and solving puzzles.
It has a good factual case in the book; but plowing thru it took me a long time to read.
The murder of Karla was a horrible occurrence. Unfortunately, too much of the story focused on the heroic personality of Weber. Also, over and over was statements about the physical beauty of Karla and her sisters,,overkill,,it would make one wonder with the evidence in the basement, were there no hair or blood from the accused,,no foot or finger prints,,,most evidence was hearsay by other s, years later, after evidence had been in the news for awhile. Not saying he didn't do it,but lots of its. Also, the bite mark evidence was fifty fifty. This was a story where I wouldn't have been convinced enough,if on the jury to have felt enough proof of a guilty vote.
A good true crime case, told in a suspenseful way. The murderer's identity is left until the last. John Douglas is involved in this case, and it is another view into how he works. It is a fascinating book. Needs to be converted to a kindle
